01Who we are

Crypto Albania is an independent editorial team publishing in two languages, Albanian and English. We write for people who live in Albania or are connected to it, students, employees, the diaspora, visitors, and who want to know how crypto works here rather than somewhere else.

We are not a bank, an exchange, a broker or a financial adviser. We hold no funds, open no accounts and sell no crypto. Articles are credited to the “Crypto Albania editorial team” because the work is done collectively and every piece is reviewed before it goes live.

02Our mission

When we started, searching in Albanian for how to buy bitcoin or whether Binance is allowed in Albania mostly turned up old news items or generic pages translated from elsewhere. Nobody explained what it really means for an Albanian resident that no platform holds an AMF licence, that lek is not accepted directly, or that gains are taxed at 15%.

Our job is to fill that gap with accurate, dated and readable information, so that readers can make their own decisions with open eyes and avoid the scams aimed squarely at beginners.

The word ALBANIA in red lettering
Every page is written for the Albanian context: the lek, local banks, the AMF and the 2023 income tax law.

03How we research and verify

Legal and regulatory facts come from primary sources: the AMF, the Bank of Albania, qbz.gov.al for legislation, tatime.gov.al for tax and konsultimipublik.gov.al for draft laws. For platforms we read their own pages: excluded-country lists, fee schedules and terms. For EU licences we check ESMA’s register of MiCA service providers.

Every fact in our research notes carries one of three labels. We publish mainly verified facts, write secondary ones with care and attribution, and either drop unverified claims or flag them clearly as unconfirmed.

LabelWhat it meansHow we use it
VerifiedPrimary source: a law, a regulator, a government document or the platform’s own pageStated as fact, with a date
SecondaryReputable media, a law firm or an aggregatorStated with attribution and care
UnverifiedA single weak source, or something we could not confirmNever presented as fact

Every page shows the date its data was checked. Platform fees and terms change often, so we write them as “from 0.10%” or “about 2%, as of October 2026”, never as promises.

04How we rank platforms

Our crypto exchange ranking only includes platforms whose own documentation does not exclude Albania. We then compare them on the same criteria:

  1. Access from AlbaniaWhether Albanian residents are accepted according to the official excluded-country list.
  2. Payment routesVisa/Mastercard, euro or SEPA transfer, P2P in lek.
  3. Group-level regulationRegistrations and licences outside Albania, as a trust signal rather than protection for Albanian residents.
  4. Security and track recordYears in operation, past incidents and account-security practices.
  5. Local adoption and feesRatings on the Albanian App Store and published trading and purchase fees.

Scores are editorial ratings from 1 to 10. They are not lab test results and never include invented “user reviews”.

05Independence

Crypto Albania is an independent information site. Editorial decisions, what we write, how platforms are ranked and what scores they receive, are made by the editorial team under the methodology above and are not influenced by the platforms we cover. No platform sees, edits or approves our articles before publication.

We do not give investment advice or tell anyone which coin to buy or when. Links to external websites are marked nofollow. The full conditions are in our terms and disclaimer.

06Corrections policy

We make mistakes too. When a reader points one out, we check it against the primary source. If the reader is right, we correct the text promptly and update the date on the page. Significant changes, such as a new law or a platform starting to exclude Albanian residents, are flagged clearly in the text.

07Contact

For corrections, new data or press enquiries, email contact@crypto-albania.com. More detail is on our contact page. Be aware: we will never ask you for passwords, seed phrases or money, and anyone doing so in our name is a scammer. See crypto scams in Albania.
