People in Albania who search for Bitget usually fall into one of two camps: those who have seen copy-trading adverts on TikTok or Telegram, and active traders hunting for low fees. Bitget, founded in 2018 and headquartered in the Seychelles, caters to both. Before you deposit, though, be clear on one point: Bitget holds no MiCA authorisation in any EU country and no licence in Albania. This review treats it with the caution that deserves.
01The quick verdict
Bitget offers 0.10% spot fees, mature copy trading and an app rated 4.9 in the Albanian App Store, and it does not restrict Albania. It sits sixth in our ranking because the missing MiCA licence, an empty lek P2P market and limited public security data make it riskier than Kraken or KuCoin.
Put simply, it is a capable tool for experienced users who know what they are doing. For your first bitcoin purchase from Albania it is not our choice. In our ranking of exchanges for Albania it comes after Kraken, Bybit, Binance and OKX.

03Is Bitget allowed in Albania?
Unlike Kraken, Bitget does not keep its restricted-country list on a simple help page; it sits inside the user agreement. A secondary summary by the site Coinperps puts the list at about two dozen jurisdictions, including the United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, the Netherlands and sanctioned states. Albania is not on it.
We have not read the full agreement ourselves, so we label this as secondary information. Before depositing, open the terms of use on bitget.com and check the restricted-jurisdictions clause. The app is listed in the Albanian App Store with a 4.9 rating from 102 reviews (2 October 2026), which shows there are real users in the country, but a store listing on its own does not prove service access.
04Licences: why the missing MiCA matters even from Albania
A fair question: if MiCA does not protect Albanian residents anyway, why should it matter that Bitget lacks it? Because MiCA is the toughest public test an exchange can pass in Europe. Kraken, Bybit, OKX and KuCoin have all passed it with their European entities. In October 2026, Bitget had no entity at all in the ESMA register.
Secondary sources say the group held pre-MiCA national VASP registrations in Lithuania, Poland and Bulgaria. Those were anti-money-laundering registrations rather than full authorisations, and they had nothing to do with Albanian clients in any case. So: no AMF licence, no European protection, and a contract with an international entity outside the EU.
An important reminder: no crypto platform is licensed by AMF. The government’s impact assessment of 13 May 2026 records zero applications to AMF and AKSHI under Law No. 66/2020. Bitget is therefore no “less legal” than the others in Albania, but it is less supervised at group level.
05Copy trading: how it works and where the risk hides
Copy trading is the product that made Bitget famous. You choose a “lead trader” from a list with performance statistics, allocate an amount, and your account automatically mirrors their entries and exits in proportion. The lead trader takes a share of your profit. On paper it sounds like the easiest way to make money without knowing anything. In practice it is where many beginners lose money fastest.
Plain spot
- Buy bitcoin or USDT and hold it
- Maximum loss = the amount invested
- 0.10% fee per trade
- Every decision is yours
Copy trading
- Mirror another trader’s positions
- Often futures with leverage: fast losses
- Trading fees plus a profit share to the trader
- Past statistics guarantee nothing
Three things to know before you copy anyone. First, many lead traders use leveraged futures, so a small market move against them can wipe out your copied position. Second, profit statistics cover a chosen window, and picking the trader with the highest return often means picking the one who took the most risk. Third, copy-trading profits are taxable at 15% under Law No. 29/2023, like any other crypto gain. See crypto tax in Albania.

06Bitget fees compared with its rivals
Bitget’s base spot fee is 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker, according to secondary sources. That puts it alongside Bybit and KuCoin and below Kraken Pro. On €500 of trading the fee is €0.50. In copy trading the real cost also includes the profit share paid to the lead trader, plus futures fees and funding costs where leverage is involved.
| Platform | MiCA (EU entity) | Spot maker / taker | Lek P2P | Albanian App Store |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bitget | None | 0.10% / 0.10% | 0 ads | 4.9★ (102) |
| Bybit | Bybit EU (Austria) | 0.10% / 0.10% | 0 ads | 4.92★ (702) |
| KuCoin | KuCoin EU (Austria) | 0.10% / 0.10% | 0 ads | 4.88★ (187) |
| OKX | OKX Europe (Malta) | 0.08% / 0.10% | A few ads | 4.79★ (149) |

MiCA applies to EEA customers only, not to Albania. P2P: public check on 2 October 2026. Fees: secondary sources.
The table makes one thing plain: on fees, Bitget has no particular edge over Bybit or KuCoin, which charge the same 0.10% and have a MiCA-authorised entity in their group. Bitget’s real differentiator is copy trading. If that does not interest you, there is little reason to choose it over the alternatives.
07Paying in: card, SEPA and lek P2P
Card. Bitget sells crypto for Visa and Mastercard through payment partners. The fee depends on the partner and is shown before you confirm; read it carefully, because on these purchases the spread is often larger than the headline fee. A lek card will go through your bank’s currency conversion. See buying crypto with a card.
SEPA. Albania has been in SEPA since October 2025, but we found no confirmation that Bitget accepts SEPA transfers from an Albanian IBAN for non-EEA customers. Do not assume it; check in the app.
Lek P2P. Bitget runs a P2P market and its system accepts a lek query, but on 2 October 2026 there were no ads at all. That is typical of Albania: only OKX had a handful of bank-transfer offers. Full data on P2P crypto in Albania.
Bitget card. The aggregator SpendNode lists a Bitget card as available in Albania, but Bitget itself has not confirmed this in any source we saw. Do not apply on the strength of that listing alone; see crypto cards in Albania.
08Security: what we know and what we don’t
For Kraken we can point to proof of reserves and a long record without loss of customer funds. For Bitget, the sources we used for this review did not let us verify reserve reports or security audits from a primary source. That does not mean they don’t exist; it means we cannot confirm them for you. Check Bitget’s official pages on reserves yourself and decide whether what you find is enough.
What is in your hands: 2FA through an authenticator app, a unique password, an anti-phishing code if one is offered, and never sharing codes with anyone who messages you claiming to be “support”. Keep no more on the exchange than you need for trading, and move the rest to a wallet you control yourself.
09How to sign up to Bitget from Albania
- Go straight to bitget.comType the address yourself or use the official app store. Do not click “bonus” links from social-media groups.
- Create the accountUse an email or phone number and a unique password. Turn on 2FA immediately.
- Verify your identityChoose Albania, upload your ID card or passport and take the selfie.
- Start with spotMake a small card purchase or move crypto in from another platform. Leave copy trading for later.
- If you try copy tradingCap the amount, avoid high-leverage lead traders and set a stop-loss for the whole copied portfolio.

- Spot 0.10% / 0.10%, cheaper than Kraken Pro

- App rated 4.9 in the Albanian App Store
Weaknesses
- No entity in ESMA’s MiCA register

- Leveraged copy trading can produce fast losses
- Security data we could not verify from a primary source
11Bitget alternatives
If you want the same 0.10% fees from a group with MiCA authorisation, look at KuCoin or Bybit. For maximum security and transparency, Kraken is second in our ranking. For lek P2P, the only market with any offers was OKX. And for a first purchase by card, read our CEX.IO review. The full comparison is on the best crypto exchanges in Albania.
Frequently asked questions
Is Bitget available in Albania?
According to secondary sources quoting its user agreement, Albania is not among the roughly two dozen jurisdictions Bitget restricts, which include the US, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, the Netherlands and sanctioned states. Albanian residents can register and verify, but check the current list on Bitget’s official site before depositing.
Is Bitget licensed under MiCA or in Albania?
No. Bitget does not appear in ESMA’s register of MiCA crypto-asset service providers (checked 2 October 2026), and it holds no licence from Albania’s AMF, which has licensed no crypto platform at all. The group had pre-MiCA national registrations in Lithuania, Poland and Bulgaria, but those never covered Albania.
Is Bitget copy trading safe?
Not in the sense of protecting your money. Copy trading mirrors another trader’s positions automatically; past results do not repeat on demand, and when the copied positions use leverage, losses can be fast and large. Treat it as high risk, start only with money you can afford to lose and avoid lead traders running high leverage.
Can I buy USDT with lek on Bitget P2P?
In theory the market exists, but when we checked on 2 October 2026 Bitget P2P had no lek ads at all. In practice you will pay by Visa or Mastercard through Bitget’s payment partners, or move crypto in from another platform. The only lek P2P market with any offers was on OKX, and even that was thin.
