01Binance in Albania, briefly
When people in Albania talk about crypto, many of them mean Binance. That is no accident: on the Albanian App Store its app has more ratings than any other crypto app, by a wide margin. This review looks at whether Binance is available in Albania, what it costs, what happens with lek and where its limits lie.
Our summary: Binance has the deepest liquidity and the widest coin selection, with spot fees from 0.10%. For users in Albania it has two clear weaknesses. It holds neither a MiCA nor an AMF licence, and the lek P2P market, which for many people is the whole reason to use it, was almost empty when we checked. It sits fourth in our ranking.

02Is Binance available and legal in Albania?
This is the question Albanians type into Google most often. The answer has two parts. First, no Albanian law stops an individual from buying, holding or selling crypto, or from using a foreign exchange. Second, according to the secondary sources we consulted in October 2026, Albania is not one of Binance’s restricted jurisdictions. Always read the current terms of use when you sign up.
What Binance does not have is an Albanian licence. Law No. 66/2020 created licences for crypto exchanges under AMF supervision, but according to the final impact assessment published on 13 May 2026, the AMF and AKSHI have received no applications and licensed nobody. So Binance is not “illegal” in Albania, but it is not supervised there either, exactly like every other exchange. The details are on is crypto legal in Albania.
03Which entity serves you, and why MiCA doesn’t apply
Binance has no single official headquarters. The app on the Albanian App Store is published by Binance Switzerland AG, but that is the store publisher name, not necessarily the company you contract with. Users in Albania sign up to the global platform; the contracting entity is named in the terms you accept at registration.
Unlike Bybit, OKX or Kraken, Binance has no entity on ESMA’s MiCA register (downloaded 2 October 2026). Even for the groups that do hold MiCA authorisation, though, the licence covers customers in the 30 EEA countries only. Albania is in neither the EU nor the EEA, so someone in Tirana would not get that protection in any case. Binance’s lack of MiCA is more a signal about group standards than a practical difference for you.
04Binance’s regulatory history
Binance grew fast and has clashed with regulators in several countries. The defining moment came in November 2023, when Binance and its founder pleaded guilty in the United States under a resolution with the Department of Justice worth about $4.3 billion, according to the DOJ’s official announcement. We mention it because it is a public fact that matters for assessing risk, not as a judgement on today’s users.

05Binance fees
For spot trading, Binance charges 0.10% maker and taker at the base tier, or 0.075% if you choose to pay fees in BNB, the platform’s own token. That makes it one of the cheaper options for anyone buying on the order book.
Direct card purchases run through payment partners and cost more; the total appears on the confirmation screen. If your card is in lek, your bank adds currency conversion on top. The practical rule: compare the amount of crypto you actually receive, not just the fee percentage. Our full cost comparison is on buying crypto with a card.
06Deposits and lek P2P
This is where Binance disappoints most. Lek is one of 112 fiat currencies listed on Binance P2P, so on paper you can buy USDT with a bank transfer in lek. In practice, when we queried Binance’s public P2P API on 2 October 2026, there were no ads where a user buys USDT with lek and just one ad where a user sells USDT, at 72.13 lek per USDT, while the bank rate was about 81.4 lek per dollar. The only payment methods were “Bank Transfer” and “OTP BANK”.
Euro P2P is far livelier. With the “Albania (Shqipëri)” country filter we found a handful of USDT/EUR ads, but using methods such as Wise, Skrill, SEPA or Visa Direct rather than Albanian banks. For euro deposits, the options depend on your account; Albania has been in SEPA since October 2025, but whether Binance accepts an Albanian IBAN has not been confirmed. Check in the app. For every P2P option, read P2P crypto in Albania.

07The app and security
With 4.87★ from 11,349 ratings on the Albanian App Store (October 2026), the Binance app has roughly 16 times as many ratings as Bybit, the next exchange on the list. That is the strongest signal of real local use we have. The app has a simplified mode for buying and a full mode for trading, and a long feature list: spot, Convert, P2P, earn products and derivatives.
That breadth is also a risk. Futures and leverage can wipe out a balance in minutes, and our advice to beginners is to stay away from them. For account security, switch on app-based 2FA, set up a withdrawal address whitelist and the anti-phishing code for emails. For anything you don’t need for trading, a wallet where you hold the keys remains the safer place.

Strengths
- Most-used crypto app in Albania: 4.87★ from 11,349 ratings
- Deepest liquidity and widest coin selection
- 0.10% spot fees, or 0.075% with BNB
- Active euro P2P with an Albania country filter
Weaknesses
- No MiCA licence and no AMF licence
- Lek P2P almost empty (0–1 ads, 2 Oct 2026)
- Regulatory history: the 2023 US DOJ resolution
- Binance Card not offered in Albania
- Plenty of leveraged products that tempt beginners
As an exchange, Binance is strong on liquidity, coin choice and low fees. For someone living in Albania, the absence of any European licence and a nearly empty lek P2P market put it behind CEX.IO, Kraken and Bybit.
09Who Binance suits
Binance suits people who already know their way around an exchange and want a wide coin choice at low cost: a developer in Tirana paid in euros who trades a few altcoins, or someone regularly switching between USDT and other assets. For them, the liquidity and the 0.10% fee carry real weight.
For a first card purchase, or for anyone after simplicity, there are more direct routes. And if you are choosing Binance specifically for lek P2P, be aware that today that market barely exists.
10Binance alternatives
For simple card purchases, look at CEX.IO, our pick for buying by card. If you want a group with EU MiCA authorisation and a strong security culture, Kraken is second in our ranking. For the widest product range, Bybit has the second-largest user base among exchange apps in Albania. And if you need lek via P2P, OKX had the busiest lek market on 2 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions
Is Binance available in Albania?
Yes. Albania is not reported as a restricted jurisdiction for Binance, and no Albanian law stops individuals from using a foreign exchange. Binance is, however, not licensed by the AMF under Law 66/2020 and holds no EU MiCA licence, so you use it on a cross-border basis without local investor protection.
Does Binance P2P work with Albanian lek?
Lek (ALL) is a listed fiat on Binance P2P, but the market is almost empty. On 2 October 2026 there were no ads for buying USDT with lek and a single ad for selling it, at about 72 lek per USDT. The euro P2P market is far more active.
What are Binance’s fees?
Spot trading costs 0.10% maker and taker at the base tier, or 0.075% if you pay fees in BNB. Card purchases go through payment partners and cost more; always check the total on the confirmation screen.
Can I get a Binance Card in Albania?
No. Binance closed its EEA card programme in December 2023, and Albania is not among the countries where the card is offered today. For crypto cards that are genuinely issued to Albanian residents, see our crypto cards page.
How do I withdraw money from Binance in Albania?
There is no direct withdrawal in lek. The usual routes are selling for euros and withdrawing to a euro account, if that is offered for your account, or P2P, where lek ads are scarce. Expect your bank to ask about the source of funds on larger amounts.
